A song from the bard!
H'lo folks, board exams are going on right now and they're a pain to deal with, so unfortunately I'm not going to write normal blogposts till they're over. You can expect a christmas and new year post however!
Until then, here's a poem composed by myself with no rhyme(literally) or reason.
The Palm by the Roadside
It was a chance occurrence
by all means
That a sapling was born
By the roadside
Among dust and trash
A sight for sore eyes
One, so tiny and green
With a life ahead full of glee
Thirst quenched by rain
Life sustained by light of Sun
Steadily it grew
Tall,Mighty and Strong
People passed by
Wondering Indeed
How could something so great
Sprout from thin air!
The palm saw much
Of Hope and of Dismay
Of Love and of Strife
And of solace and discord
Yet it stood by the roadside
Watching cars go by at great speeds and
it's heart longed, to travel
As they did with haste
One day, a storm came
Of terrifying power it was
People cried in fear
Taking shelter under the palm
Even the palm was quaked
By this challenger so great
And yet determined to brave it
It stood tall and strong against the great gale
The people were anxious and fearful as
Minutes passed into hours
Storm calming from its fury
Into a breeze on their cheeks
The tree stood,
Alas! A shell of it's former glory
Gone were its dreams!
To be carried with the breeze and to see sights unseen
As it stood weeping
A boy young and sweet
He picked up a frond
Of mighty hero fallen in battle
His heart full of innocence
Carried the palm in it
And the palm took heart
For it travelled within the boy
Life in hand of another
Together to a new land unseen.
