Far from familiar land

Hey!

It's been a while since I have posted and unfortunately, I still won't be able to post long form posts for a bit more, due to a lack of means to write as I did before, I'm glad to put up this poem that I wrote.

I'm a bit rusty, so forgive me if it's crude

Far from familiar land

A foreigner I am, in this

Land of renown and fame

My home I miss

Ever since here I came

Sights of splendour I see

Great buildings and winding roads

Night sky in the south be

Filled with northern lights of heavenly abode

Yet elsewhere I see

Filth,muck,dust and grime

Cars and bikes seem to flee

Men hunched, their backs bent past their prime

I miss the trees back home

Miss the familiar words

Even miss the rains and storms

Most of all my family I wish to greedily hoard

Inevitable it is, however

That I stay here

To not regret forever

A chance untaken and a victory for my fears

  1. A wonderful poem to capture the true essence of homesickness. Once again, you have blown my mind, Aby.
